iOS vs Android 2020 – A “Super” Insight

“Good lord, he is such a diva!” my mind screaming with a fake smile plastered on my face. Hi, my name is Deadpool and I am here to interview Mr. Bruce Wayne and Mr. Clark Kent in all their glory – as Batman and Superman.

And you haven’t guessed it already; the diva comment was for Kent. He was getting fussy about his already picture-perfect hair not being in place. Wayne was, as usual, brooding in the corner for nothing. He is like that. He broods. A LOT. Well, not everyone can be a ray of sunshine like me, can they?

If you’re buying a new smartphone today, chances are very good that it will run one of two operating systems: Google’s Android or Apple’s iOS. These two platforms account for 99.7% of all new smartphones shipped in 2017 and that percentage rose even higher last year. Anyhoo, in a world divided amongst iOS and Android users, there has been a constant battle for which one is the best. iOS or Android phone is our generation’s Ford vs Chevy squabble.

DeadTV (my ambitious endeavour) decided to invite these esteemed superheroes requesting them to take some time out of their busy schedules of saving the world, not trying to kill each other and figuring out who the hell Martha to finally settle the iOS vs Android debate!

Batman, being the rich, all-exclusive and innovating brat he is, vouches for iOS. How do you know if someone has an iPhone? They TELL you.

And Superman, being an obsessive people’s person, loves his Android and its brute specs. This operating system loves to fix stuff so much; it probably will add the missing piece to the Apple logo.

 “Google Assistant is better than Siri despite coming late to the market. Integrated tightly into everything on your phone, Google Assistant proactively makes suggestions by looking at your calendar and Gmail account for upcoming reservations and appointments,” Superman stressed.

“A more productive platform for developers, the chances of new apps to appear on iOS first is higher. Even though the Play Store has a higher percentage of free apps as compared to the App Store, but the best mobile games still land on iOS first and don’t always come to Android. Quality trumps quantity so this is an easy win for iOS,” Batman said.

“Whaaaa!” Kent smirked. “What use are all those apps if you don’t even have enough battery to last a day? An Android device has a much bigger battery that will easily outlast the iPhone. And how would you explain letting a wanted criminal get out of your hand because you couldn’t navigate as your GODDAMN battery died!”

“That happened once and I said sorry,” Wayne exclaimed sheepishly. “Speaking of safety breaches, iOS takes great pain to keep your data private and devices secure, and the company does make an effort to fix mistakes when it makes them. Apple services like iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud make the most use of encryption to protect data travelling to and from your phone and data stored on Apple’s servers. Even I couldn’t hack my own device,” he brooded.

“Ugh, enough with the brooding! Can you stop it? We know it gives depth to the character but it has started to get annoying,” Superman stated irritatingly.

Our caped crusader just stared at him unbelievingly.
